Download Flowline for Windows

Free automatic time tracker. No account and no cloud upload. Activity is written to a local SQLite file on this PC.

Prebuilt installers are posted on GitHub Releases as they ship. Until one is up, build from source in a few commands — the guide covers both.

Install steps

  1. 1 Download the latest Flowline setup .exe from GitHub Releases. The file name looks like Flowline-0.1.0-setup.exe.
  2. 2 Run the installer. If SmartScreen warns, choose More info, then Run anyway. Early builds are unsigned.
  3. 3 Flowline adds a tray icon and can launch on login. Tracking starts with no account.
  4. 4 Optional: load the Flowline Bridge extension for per-domain browser time. The installer copies browser-extension next to the app resources.

What you get

  • Automatic foreground-app tracking on Windows 10 and 11
  • Dashboard, Insights, Rules, focus sessions, goals, and streaks
  • Idle detection so away-from-keyboard time is not counted
  • CSV and JSON export of the local database
  • Optional Chrome or Edge extension (load unpacked, not a store listing)

What you do not get

  • macOS and Linux builds
  • Website or app blocking
  • Screen recording or keystroke logging
  • Team, employee, or classroom monitoring
  • A cloud account or sync

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • A normal desktop or laptop. No extra runtime to install for the packaged app.
  • Chrome or Edge only if you want per-domain browser tracking.
  • Internet is not required after the installer is downloaded.

Installer size is listed on the GitHub release. This page does not guess it.

Build from source

Clone the repo and run the Windows setup script. It builds native modules against Electron instead of a plain npm install, which fails on Node 24 here.

git clone https://github.com/sanjaynishad/flowline.git
cd flowline
npm run setup:win
npm run dev
Why setup:win is required
